Letter from Recruitment Chair

Dear Potential New Members,

I’m sure you are all feeling anxious to get the recruitment process started. Maybe you are nervous, or maybe you are just excited. Let me share with you a little secret, so was I! While I was overwhelmed with excitement by the process at first and had no clue what to expect, I can happily say going through recruitment and joining Delta Gamma was the best decision I have ever made. My intentions in joining a sorority were to find a home away from home and make friends that would last a lifetime. I can fully confirm that this is exactly what I have found in the loving and welcoming arms of the Delta Gamma sisterhood. You will visit with many fabulous chapters that the College of Charleston has as options for you. The best piece of advice I can give you is to be yourself, and know you will find the right chapter for you. Through all of the generalizations of sorority life, I was overjoyed to find a diversified group of women in Delta Gamma. Delta Gamma allows women to break down barriers and be the most authentic version of themselves. Through the support of the Delta Gamma sisterhood, I have found everything that I hoped for and more. Delta Gamma has been my rock throughout hard classes and the stressful things from my everyday life. I have never laughed harder than I have with my sisters and have never felt a love as strong as the love given from the chapter. My sisters are my best friends, and I can’t imagine what my college experience would be like without them. One of the things I have heard the most about Delta Gamma is how genuine all of our women are. As a Delta Gamma sisterhood, we promise to “Do Good”, whether it is through our philanthropy Service for Sight or simply helping out a sister when they are in need. Each and every one of our Eta Sigma women represent the Delta Gamma values of kindness, compassion, empathy, friendship, and the celebration of differences. When you join Delta Gamma, you aren’t just joining a sorority, you are making lifelong friends and even finding your future bridesmaids. Delta Gamma has provided me with unique leadership opportunities that will help pave my way into the future. My sisters mean the world to me, and I am so unbelievably honored to be a part of Delta Gamma, my home away from home. We can’t wait to meet you and share the special bond that our Delta Gamma family holds!
